Get artsy 

The Christchurch Art Gallery is the perfect spot to enjoy spending time with the family and become more cultured at the same time. They even offer pram friendly "Oh Baby its Art" tours to learn more about the masterpieces! 

 

 

 

Head to the playground

With so many great playgrounds in the city, we are spoilt for choice. Our top picks are the Margaret Mahy Playground- or if your kids are already adrenaline junkies and are after a fantastic flying fox then head to Heathcote Domain. 

 

 

Explore the bays

Head through the tunnel (an experience in itself for the littlies) and explore the bays around Lyttelton - Corsair Bay is a great spot to explore and have a picnic!

Go Lego

Get creative with Lego and Duplo at the Imagination Station - this free activity is an awesome way for children and adults alike to explore their creative side. 

 

Take in the colours

The Christchurch Botanic Gardens are full of colour all year round! Check out the Central Rose Garden - or in winter explore the conservatories full of exotic plants.

With so many great walking tracks around the hills - why not "climb a mountain" or become an explorer in the outdoors?

Go back in time

Do a time warp and explore the hustle and bustle of a typical nineteenth century Christchurch street at the Canterbury Museum - view the old stores or ride a penny farthing.
