For a Prosperous City
ChristchurchNZ is the sustainable economic development agency for the city and all of our work is focused on making Ōtautahi Christchurch a better place to live, work and play.
Our purpose as an organisation is to stimulate sustainable economic growth for a prosperous city. The Christchurch Economic Ambition is the pathway for us, our partners, industry and business to achieve this. We need to grow a regenerative economy that brings prosperity, benefits people and the planet and transitions us to a low emission city.
We do this by growing jobs, improving the economic, social and environmental competitiveness of Christchurch businesses, and promoting Christchurch to everyone, from everywhere. We talk to people who want to do business, invest, study and live in our friendly city, because we know what it can offer them.
We work to enhance our city’s reputation as a place of balance, adventure and opportunity. Our new city is a place where people can build a life they love; a place where they can grow families, grow businesses, grow skills and big ideas. We promote and share this message to wider Aotearoa and the world.
We also enable and deliver urban development projects and activities that support the economic prosperity of the city.
We bring together partnerships to deliver multi-generational community benefit. These partnerships across business, community, iwi and government are informed by evidence-based economic insights.
