Igniting Bold Ambition
ChristchurchNZ is the city’s sustainable economic development and city profile agency. Our purpose is to stimulate sustainable economic growth for a more prosperous Christchurch.
We work to a mission of igniting bold ambition for our city.
Our core priorities are to grow jobs, improve the economic, social and environmental competitiveness of Christchurch businesses, and promote Christchurch nationally and globally to people who want to do business, invest, study and live in our incredible city.
We work domestically and internationally to enhance our city’s strong reputation as a basecamp for exploration and innovation.
We bring together partnerships to deliver multi-generational community benefit. These partnerships across business, community, iwi and government (local and central) and are informed by evidence-based economic insights.
We do this through funding from Christchurch City Council and a wide range of external partners and sponsors.

Who we are, where we work and how to contact our team.
We have set ambitious 10-year-goals that go beyond the blunt measure of gross domestic product, embracing and exploring a holistic approach to prosperity. We’ve made measurable commitments to environmental improvement, economic inclusion and improved confidence. We are determined to deliver sustainable growth that delivers a better future for Ōtautahi Christchurch and its people.
We have called this set of goals the Christchurch Prosperity Framework and it guides and dictates all our work.
