The original RNZAF Base Wigram Officers Mess was built in 1938, it served officers of Royal New Zealand Air Force Base Wigram for decades. During its time it would see royal visits, graduation parties, dinners and events for International delegations.

Elegantly renovated in early 2021, RNZAF Wigram No.1 Officer’s Mess has been transformed to a design-minded boutique hotel in the heart of Wigram/Hornby suburb. The Wigram Hotel has a modern style with historic bones, this urban oasis hold 28 deluxe rooms set amid beautiful outdoor garden and St. Mark’s Chapel. Historic art deco design of the hotel exterior has been kept as it is. Spacious and unique conferencing facilities along with a restaurant and bar and wedding facilities are on offer.
