ChristchurchNZ’s strategic investment into Major Events contributes to the vibrancy and life of the city, attracting visitors, stimulating economic activity and raising our city’s profile nationally and internationally - leaving a positive legacy for the wider community.
The annual portfolio of Major Events will support a diverse range of events across the calendar year and across the region. These include a mix of arts, music, cultural and sporting events.
The Major Events funding round is supported with funding from the Canterbury & West Coast Regional Events Fund.

Re-opening of the Major Events funding round will be the next opportunity to apply for funding that comes from the Regional Events Fund for events in Christchurch.

The Major Events funding round allows event organisers to submit an application to secure partnership investment to host their event in Christchurch.
