Chill out and enjoy the DnD Showband ABBA Tribute and Frankie and The Teardrops at our very first Summer Sundays concert of the year!
Summer Sundays, Christchurch's outdoor summer music series, returns this summer with three free concerts to entertain the crowds – 31 January, 7 and 21 February.
First up are the talented DnD Showband – ABBA Tribute and Frankie and The Teardrops.
Picnic food, drinks and chairs are welcome – no glass, please.
St John's and water stations will be on site.
One of NZ’s longest-established tribute-cover acts, DnD Showband! Over the years, the South Island-based showband has played on the main stage at many of the major events across the country, including Food Festivals, Masters Games, Carnivals and Sporting Events.
They are also a regular act on the chartered clubs circuit across the country, performing tribute shows from their extensive catalogue of costumed theme shows, such as Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, Grease, 60s, 70s, 80s, Rocky Horror and Moulin Rouge.
You can expect a skilfully delivered performance that is visually energetic and brimming with enthusiasm. Hear all the ABBA hits from 1974 Waterloo through to 1980’s Super Trouper.
Led by Frankie Daly, The Teardrops are a fun loving, inclusive yet rebellious party with an iconic four-piece, full-time babe brass section sending out hooks that are heavy and addictive.
Their repertoire is a melting pot of 70s and 80s pop/rock, Queen, The Rolling Stones and a few pop diva moments inspired by the likes of Chappel Roan and Sabrina Carpenter.
They are steadily making a name for themselves in the Christchurch scene, having played headlining and opening slots at Space Academy, Darkroom, house concerts and private functions.
