At its heart, Zentangle art is all about being in the moment as you flow with your pen lines to create the different patterns. We call these patterns, 'tangles' and you create them with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. These simple shapes are the "Elemental Strokes" in all Zentangle art.

The method allows for the drawing to unfold in an unplanned yet structured way, it's a lot of fun, even those who 'think' they are uncreative will find this an easy method to pick up. You'll create a couple of pieces of work and have a mini kit of tools to go home with to explore some more.

Ildica Boyd has by her own admission a 'passion for patterns'! If not teaching or doing Zentangle (including some large-scale street furniture boxes or community projects), she can be found swapping her pen for a shuttle, and be weaving either busy on her loom, or teaching that too.
