Study Options

Papanui High School is located in the north of the city, next to Northlands Mall. This allows students to move to and from school and around the city by bus. We are also 30 minutes from the beach for surfing and 1 hour from the mountains for hiking and skiing.

PEETO, the multi-cultural learning centre, opened in 1991. They are registered and accredited with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). Students from many nationalities attend the school to learn English in a very multi-cultural, family-like environment. Currently, students of 25 nationalities attend classes.

Starting in 1889, Rang Ruru Girls’ School has a proud 130-year history of teaching girls with a focus on excellence and achievement. We are a private (independent) school in Christchurch, offering personalised, holistic education from Year 7 – 13, day and boarding.

Rangiora New Life School is the only Christian inter-denominational school in North Canterbury with a community of approximately 470 students aged 5-18 and 50 staff members.

Riccarton High School has welcomed international students for over 25 years. We maintain a medium-sized international programme of approximately 60 students; small enough to give students the individual care and attention they need, but within a school large enough to provide a high quality programme, plus staff and support services for every facet of New Zealand life.

Shirley Boys’ High School is a single-sex school with a roll of 1200 boys. On April 29th, 2019 we opened our doors to students and staff as New Zealand’s newest campus. Our new site is custom-built, and our facilities are superb. We are situated next to a brand-new City Council swimming facility which means our students have excellent access to the community swimming pool. We pride ourselves in being specialists in boys’ education.
