RD Petroleum is a strategic fuel supply partner to the Italian Antarctic Programme (ENEA) and a proud supporting member of the Christchurch Antarctic Network. Our Christchurch base at Islington sits close to Christchurch International Airport and Lyttelton Port, positioning us to
support Antarctic-bound aircraft, vessels and expedition logistics.
Established in 2005, RD Petroleum is a joint venture between BP Oil New Zealand Limited and Dunedin-based Wilson Holdings Limited. That partnership with a major oil company gives our customers certainty of supply and backup capacity during fuel shortages, which matters when programmes are working to narrow seasonal windows.
We market and distribute bulk fuel, lubricants, AdBlue® and petroleum products across the commercial, rural, transport, marine, aviation and residential sectors. With a fleet of 50 tankers operating from Nelson, the West Coast, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill, we distribute approximately 500 million litres of ground, air and marine fuel throughout the South Island each year.
Our aviation division is CAA Part 19F certified and operates nationwide, supplying Avgas and Jet A-1 through bulk delivery, onsite storage solutions and 24-hour card access across the Air BP network.
