Don’t have a ticket? You can still join in the fan fun and festivities of the DHL Super Rugby Pacific - Super Round in the streets of Christchurch

Bustling city with One New Zealand Stadium in background

How to get among the fun of Super Round rugby even if you missed out on tickets?

The DHL Super Rugby Pacific - Super Round is more than just the five matches at One New Zealand Stadium — it is a festival of rugby and fun that will spill into the streets of the central city.

Although tickets are almost all gone (you can find remaining tickets for Saturday and Sunday below), you can still join in the festivities and get among other fans who are visiting the city from all over Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

Where to watch the Super Round rugby matches for free?

ChristchurchNZ is running a Live Site on The Terrace that will show all the games live — and for free!

The Live Site will also host all 10 teams for signing sessions where fans can meet their heroes.

It’s a great place both for fans who will be heading to the brand-new One New Zealand Stadium to catch the action live as well as for fans who will stay on and watch the matches on the big screen set up on the banks of the Avon/Ōtākaro just north of the Bridge of Remembrance.

All five matches will be shown live and for free at the Live Site.

Come early as the site is bound to fill up.

Where to mingle with other fans & get amongst the event energy?

Fans of all the teams will be mingling along the Fan Trail running from the Bridge of Remembrance along City Mall and Cashel Street between the Live Site to One New Zealand Stadium.

This walk takes only about eight minutes and with a variety of entertainment along the way, it’s worth going there and back to get a taste of the stadium atmosphere before watching games back at the Live Site.

Buskers, dancers and musicians will be bringing the jams and the energy — from fire poi to hip-hop dancers to a sax quartet.

The Fan Trail will be filled with fun and entertainment from two-and-a-half hours before kick-off each day.

Where to get fueled up & refreshed before the big game?

The Live Site is right on The Terrace, the city’s premier strip of hospitality, and next to Riverside Market and its wide range of delicious foods, making it the ideal spot to eat and drink before you settle in to watch the game on the big screen or mingle with game-day fans along the Fan Trail.

Just remember to plan your travel into the city ahead, stay safe if you’re drinking and have a great time on the streets of Ōtautahi, Christchurch, as they come to life over Anzac weekend for the Super Round fun.

SailGP live site
The Super Round Live Site will be at the same location on The Terrace as the SailGP Live Site in 2024.
