ChristchurchNZ earns five EDNZ Awards finalist spots
ChristchurchNZ has been nominated as a finalist in five categories at the 2025 EDNZ Awards, with nominations spanning collaboration, innovation, and technology categories. The recognition highlights Christchurch's growing reputation as a hub for aerospace innovation, startup ecosystems, and biotech research.
ChristchurchNZ has been recognised as a finalist in five categories at the 2025 Economic Development New Zealand (EDNZ) Awards – a testament to the city's growing reputation for innovation, collaboration, and impact.
The finalist projects highlight the breadth of ChristchurchNZ's work across key sectors and its strong partnerships that are helping drive economic growth in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
What awards did ChristchurchNZ receive nominations for?
ChristchurchNZ received five finalist nominations across three distinct award categories at the 2025 EDNZ Awards:
Collaboration category (3 nominations):
Three nominations in the Collaboration category recognise the strength of partnerships:
- Partnership with the Space Cities Network – positioning Christchurch as a global hub for aerospace innovation
- Partnership with Mainland Angels – instrumental in growing Christchurch's thriving startup ecosystem
- Leadership in developing New Zealand's nationally significant aerospace sector that continues to build international momentum
Innovative use of technology category (1 nomination):
- Support for Datascouts whose digital platforms are showcasing Christchurch's innovation edge
Innovation category (1 nomination):
- Work with Bio Ora on biotech breakthroughs, establishing Christchurch as a hub for immunotherapy research and treatment
