Take a look at some of the artefacts found in Christchurch, talk to an archaeologist and experiment with art materials to make your own zine.

This Christchurch Archaeology Project event showcases stories of the past through artefacts that have been uncovered in Christchurch over the last decade. These stories – and artefacts – will be reimagined and their stories retold through the twenty-first century pastime of zine making, utilising art and creative practice to bring nineteenth century stories into the present day.

We will have artefacts on display, with an archaeologist available to answer all your questions. An art educator will also be on hand to help with techniques and designs, along with coloured papers, pens, pencils, crayons, and glue to make your very own history-inspired zine, which you are welcome to take home at the end of the day.

Drop in between 10am and 1pm, materials provided. Family friendly and free to all.

Children’s University offer credit hours for any members who participate in the workshop.
