We’re kicking off the 2026/27 season with a free surf day for Canterbury’s kids and teens. No cost, no experience needed, just show up ready to give it a go.

 Sessions run all day at Sumner Beach, with groups formed by age so every participant surfs at the right level. Our ISA qualified instructors take care of everything from the water briefing to getting everyone standing up on a board.

  • Sessions at 9.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm
  • 1.5 hours per session
  • Ages 6 to 18, grouped by age
  • All surfboards, 4/3 wetsuits and booties provided
  • Qualified instructors, fully supervised
