TinyFest, Ōtautahi’s real, raw and radical performance arts festival, returns from 19–21 June for its fifth iteration, taking over the Christchurch Bus Interchange.
This year's theme, INTERxCHANGE, transforms a place of transit into a site of interruption and encounter — a space where everyday rhythms are disrupted and reimagined through live performance. Movement, transition, and connection become the guiding forces of a programme that unfolds directly within the flow of the city.
Over the weekend, you have the chance to experience a dynamic programme of site-specific experimental performance art, live music, dance, comedy, and more. Many of the works have been created in direct response to the site and theme, offering experiences that are immediate, intimate, and unrepeatable.
From performances taking place aboard a Metro bus to activations unfolding throughout the Bus Interchange, TinyFest invites you to encounter art where you least expect it. Public space becomes performance space, and familiar journeys become opportunities for surprise, reflection, and connection.
TinyFest remains committed to accessibility and openness, operating on a FREE and 'choose what you pay' model, ensuring the festival remains available to as wide an audience as possible.
