Te Hā Puoro – The Lions Christchurch Schools’ Music Festival

2026 marks another year of music-making for the newly named Te Hā Puoro – The Lions Christchurch Schools’ Music Festival.

This year’s theme is Just Dream – Moemoeā Noa, celebrating the power of a dream and the difference it can make as we strive to be our best and make the most of life.

The festival will feature an inspiring selection of songs that bring this theme to life, including Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka, Stan Walker’s Bigger, and Any Dream Will Do.

We invite you to support this wonderful event, which brings together thousands of primary school children from across the Christchurch region to celebrate the joy of music-making.

Alongside the massed school performances, audiences will have the opportunity to witness the extraordinary talents of our auditioned representative groups, showcasing some of Christchurch’s finest young musicians. Come and share in the music, celebrate our young people, and dream big with us.”
