A wild adventure awaits these holidays at Orana Wildlife Park!

Our Holiday Programmes are perfect for curious kids (aged 7-12 years) who love animals and adventure, offering a full day of fun, learning, and hands-on experiences with our incredible wildlife. Each day brings a new theme, from Monkey Mayhem and Creatures of Aotearoa to Safari Superstars, with a variety of animals, activities, and unique encounters to enjoy.

Kids can journey across Christchurch’s own savannah, explore New Zealand’s amazing native species, or swing into a day focused on some of the park’s most intelligent animals. No two days are the same, making this the wildest way to spend the school holidays!

As New Zealand’s only open-range wildlife park, Orana plays an important role in conservation, education, and animal care. Our Holiday Programme is a fantastic way for young explorers to connect with nature and be part of that mission.

Conditions:

  • Ages: 7-12 years.
  • Availability: 12 spaces per day.
  • Our holiday programme is a hands‑on, active experience in a wildlife park. Each day will involve physical participation, which may include (but is not limited to) crouching, standing, walking, lifting or carrying items, and moving across uneven or outdoor terrain. Children may encounter animal smells (including poo) and may use simple hand tools such as mallets, scissors, hammers, or gardening tools. To ensure everyone’s safety, all participants must be able to follow instructions from our team at all times.
  • Note that a later pickup of 5pm is an option (at additional cost of $25 per person).
  • Each Holiday Programme is run by two Orana Educators who spend the entire time with Holiday Programme participants.
