Jazz Club 2026: Silverlocks

Silverlocks is a nine-piece swing band from Ōtautahi Christchurch, bringing the golden age of jazz roaring back to life. The horn section features Lana Law on baritone sax, Mike Bickers on trumpet, Aaron Chandler on trombone, James Lawton on tenor sax, and Matt Davis on alto sax.

Driving the rhythm in the engine room are Mike Kime on double bass, Lou Moverley on drums, and Katie Martin on keys.

Fronting the band, Emma Summers brings fresh energy and charisma to classic arrangements from the 1920s and ’30s, breathing new life into the music of some of the era’s greatest performers. From their recent performances at the Harbour Street Jazz & Blues Festival in Ōamaru, Silverlocks brings irresistible swing and high-energy charm.

Set within the historic Great Hall, Jazz Club is a relaxed evening of live music, drinks, and conversation in an intimate cabaret-style setting.
