Jack Harré Quartet blends 50s-60s jazz roots with bold improvisation, featuring local legends for an unmissable night of adventurous, live music.
Rooted in the rhythmic language of 1950s and 60s jazz, the Jack Harré Quartet channels that rich tradition into music that is wholly their own. Drawing on the propulsive drive of hard bop and the open, searching quality of modal jazz, the quartet uses these foundations as a launchpad for music that defies easy categorization.
Each moment is a genuine act of musical conversation — four accomplished improvisers responding to one another in real time, honouring the craft and spontaneity that has always been at the heart of jazz, while pushing boldly into new territory.
The quartet features local legends George Maclaurin and Ciaran Kingi-Booth on Piano and Bass, and wellington phenom Abey Baillie at the drum kit.
An unmissable evening for lovers of adventurous, living music.
