Hōhepa Canterbury has been supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live full, meaningful lives in Christchurch since 1965, through residential living and a range of community participation programmes and therapies. We are committed to meeting each person where they are and supporting lifelong learning that honours their individual physical, emotional, and developmental needs. Our Café Takeover at CWEA is an exciting opportunity to partner with an organisation that shares our values of inclusion, learning and community connection.
The event will provide meaningful, front-of-house hospitality experience for Simon and Rachel in a welcoming mainstream environment. They will be Hohepa’s ambassadors for the day and will showcase the delicious baking from our Halswell Farm. In undertaking this role for the day, they will develop hospitality skills and confidence.
Visitors will also have the chance to view and purchase a selection of beautiful weaving and textile creations made by Hōhepa whaiora through our day programmes. They can also learn more about our work and the many ways people can connect with and support our community. We greatly value our relationship with CWEA and look forward to strengthening this partnership in the years ahead. Join us for fantastic baking served with flair and a smile by Simon and Rachel.
