Dinosaurs: Surviving Extinction

Experience a close encounter with dinosaur skeletons, including a 9-metre-long relative of the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex, at the Canterbury Museum Pop-Up.

Dinosaurs: Surviving Extinction, which opens on 13 February and runs until 14 June, stars life-size replica skeletons of a Tarbosaurus, a carnivorous Asian rival of T-Rex that could grow up to 12-metres-long, the fearsome Utahraptor, which was armed with deadly crescent-shaped claws, and a dinosaur that flaunted colourful quills like a porcupine.

The exhibition explores how dinosaurs are related to modern birds, sharing many of their characteristics, including laying eggs, raising their young in a brood and even growing feathers.
