Biketober - Sunday Sunrise Ride
Biketober and Spokes Canterbury brings you a bike ride out to see the sunrise! Get up early and roll out together.
Biketober is a month-long cycling festival in Christchurch, and along with Spokes Canterbury, we bring you a Sunday Sunrise Ride!
Meet in Latimer Square from 5:15am for a rollout at 5:30am sharp.
We will follow out the most direct route to New Brighton, which might soon be a cycleway, along Worcester St, Woodham Rd and Pages Rd. We will be riding on roads, but don’t anticipate much traffic at the hour. Watch the sunrise (due at 6:22) from New Brighton and then find your own way home, perhaps on parts of the City to Sea Pathway.
The ride length is only 8:5 km. If you’d rather join the ride somewhere along the route, we will have a GPS tracker published so you can see where we are.
In the event of bad weather, this will be postponed to the following day; Monday 26th.
