View mapTerrace Station, just 50 minutes drive from Christchurch is a hidden gem that will delight all members of the family. The woodland garden was first designed in the 1860s and has garden rooms with huge established trees, shrubs and perennials that change throughout the seasons. The New Zealand Gardens Trust has endorsed this garden with the first ‘Collection’ membership listing, acknowledging the variety of trees within and around the property. The homestead is recognised by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga as a Category 1 Building, an excellent example of a farm cottage first built in the 1850s that was extended and changed to meet the needs of the family. There are museum rooms in the homestead and restored farm buildings to explore.
Visits generally proceed in all weather unless the Terrace Station team deems conditions unsafe. Cancellations less than 24 hours before your booking are non-refundable. Terrace Station may cancel or alter tours or close areas for safety or operational reasons.
