Day one in Christchurch
Get out in nature
Check out the city on a unique two-wheeler with a Chill - Explore urban bike tour. Peddle your way to some of the city’s best and quirky coffee shops, zip down side streets and to boutique shops. Or if biking is not for you, check out one of the many walking tracks around the city and Port Hills.
Explore the Christchurch Adventure Park
After spending the morning exploring the city, make your way to the Christchurch Adventure Park. At more than 350 hectares, it is the largest mountain bike park in the Southern Hemisphere. Take in the scenery from the 1.8-kilometre chairlift, race through the valley on a dual zipline tour or simply chill out on a large deck at the park’s café and bar.
Soak in the hot pools
Finish up your day of activities and head to New Brighton to soak in the coastal views and breathe in the sea air at He Puna Taimoana Hot Pools. The complex has five luxurious hot pools, with the top pools offering views of the ocean. The hot pools are the perfect place to recover after an active day also offering a plunge pool, sauna and steam room.
Eat & drink

Explore the attractions
A visit to Christchurch wouldn't be complete without experiencing the iconic Punting on the Avon. Sit back, relax and let a punter dressed in Edwardian attire show you the best sights of Christchurch from the river.
Spend your last afternoon in Christchurch visiting some iconic attractions on the city's fringe. Head north of the central city to the International Antarctic Centre, where you can explore an icy way of living and cold-loving wildlife.
Or come face to face with some of New Zealand's native wildlife at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, including our national bird, the Kiwi.
