For families seeking an outstanding New Zealand education, Waimairi combines independently recognised excellence with highly personalised care and authentic cultural immersion.
Our international programme is intentionally small, with a maximum of two international students in each class. This allows students to become part of everyday New Zealand school life, build genuine friendships with local children, develop their English naturally, and receive individual attention from teachers who know them well.
Excellence at Waimairi is externally proven. In 2026, the Ministry of Education named Waimairi a Top 10 finalist nationwide for Excellence in Quality Teaching and Instruction.
In 2025, the Education Review Office assessed Waimairi as Excelling across all 12 domains of school performance.
Our distinctive approach also provides something unusual in primary education: continuity. Through Looping, children remain with the same teacher for two years, allowing strong learning relationships to deepen over time.
Students experience a consistent structured literacy pathway throughout their primary years, alongside mathematics teaching from a Numicon Advocate School trusted to support other schools.
Every international family has a dedicated International Director, providing personalised support from first enquiry through to departure.
At Waimairi, international students don't simply attend a New Zealand school. They join a high-performing community where they are challenged to achieve, individually supported and genuinely known.
With parent only.
