Te Raekura Redcliffs School

Te Raekura Redcliffs School has been at the centre of the Redcliffs community since 1907. 

With a proud reputation of academic,cultural and sporting success, Te Raekura Redcliffs provides a high quality education for the students aged 5-13 | Year 0-Year 8.

Our school boasts a spectacular shoreline setting alongside the Ihutai Estuary in the eastern coastal region of Christchurch. Being situated next to the ocean provides rich learning connections to the local environment which is only 15 minutes from the city centre and 30 minutes from Christchurch International airport.

Our students’ learning pathway is structured around our vision - Learn - Grow - Flourish or Ako - Tipu - Puawai.

We create strong local connections for our students in the Redcliffs community whilst equipping them with creative and critical thinking skills that enable them to be successful in global settings.

Our architectural award winning school was rebuilt in 2020 offering modern classroom facilities, a stunning school hall, spacious areas to play at break times, as well as basketball courts, an artificially turfed area for all weather sport, a garden, and an orchard.

Our school focuses on core values of Responsibility, Excellence, Manaakitanga (Respect) and Resilience to develop our students to be positive contributors in our school and wider community and challenge themselves to take up opportunities in school curriculum programmes, including music, sport, STEM and outdoor education.

High expectations for learning and behaviour ensure our students are engaged in their learning, and the dedicated team of teaching and learning professionals ensure all students receive the support they require to make positive steps forward in their learning.  

We enrol a small number of international students who are supported to settle quickly into school life, whilst families are supported to settle into life in Christchurch, adding to the rich cultural connections in our school community.
