Monk Party and Suparna
An evening of mystical world music featuring Monk Party's repertoire alongside music from Suparna’s new album A World Within.
Monk Party is a father and son project. Originally formed to perform the devotional mantras of Sri Chinmoy, the duo have evolved and expanded into a broader, mostly instrumental project.
Pragunya Myers-daly performs on Arabic Oud, and Guitar, anchoring the groups sound with rhythm and tonal depth.
Suparna is Nelson Myers-Daly’s flute-led voice within the project, centred around bansuri and duduk. His playing is shaped by his training in Indian music under Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.
The duo have recently expanded into a full band, featuring Peter Fleming on double bass and Brazilian drummer and percussionist Ricardo Stuani.
