Missa Gaia

Join us for a powerful celebration of the Earth and the musical inspiration it provides. This concert will feature the Silver Whispers Suite by New Zealand composer Leonie Holmes along with the eponymous work Missa Gaia: Earth Mass by Paul Winter and Paul Halley.

Missa Gaia blends the human voice with evocative sounds from nature, featuring a rich tapestry of percussion, organ, clarinet, and saxophone. While the main music is composed by Paul Winter, it is customarily accompanied with works by his contemporaries, so we will be including the Freedom Trilogy, Ubi Caritas, and Love Songs for Springtime by Paul Halley.

The other major work accompanying this will be Silver Whispers Suite by New Zealand composer Leonie Holmes. It is a suite that celebrates life in its many forms - from the "scuttle of insects to the unearthly song of whales." 

This concert offers a vibrant, celebratory blend of international and local music, united by the shared wonder and glory of the world we live in.
