Whether you're a nature enthusiast or just curious, this is a fun way to explore local biodiversity together.

A Biolitz is an event where plants, insects, fungi, and birds found within in a certain area are documented.

City Nature Challenge is an annual bioblitz-style competition with cities around the world in a friendly contest to see who can make the most observations of nature. Help keep Otautahi Christchurch at the top of the leaderboard by coming along and making an observation of what you uncover!

This is a great community event for all ages — no experience needed! There will be a team on hand to help you get started with iNaturalist.NZ and guide you on the day.

The event location will be in an recently planted area of Linda Woods Reserve at the end of Horotane Valley.

Meeting point:  At the Linda Wood Reserve entrance point at the end of Horotane Valley.

More information will be posted on the Summit Road Society and Heathcote Community Facebook pages close to the date.

You have until Monday May 10 to upload your photos into iNaturalist to make your observations count in the challenge final totals.
