For the past 125+ years, the people of Ōtautahi Christchurch have been able to explore the wonders of the night sky and the science of astronomy through the University of Canterbury’s Heritage Stargazing Friday night sessions in the Observatory Tower at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre (originally Canterbury College and then the University of Canterbury).
Please note: the Exhibition Space is on the first floor and only accessed via stairs. Similarly, the telescope is only accessed via 75 steps. There is no lift.
