This grand mansion was begun in 1856 and completed in 1900. It was the home of the Deans family for 80 years. Experience a tour of the house and learn about the history of the pioneering Deans family – their stories, dreams, loves and promises.

Our tour entwines the Deans's family story, from their origins in lowland Scotland to the triumphs and tragedy in New Zealand, with a guided experience of over 20 rooms throughout Riccarton House.

Full house tour includes a second storey and there is no lift access.
