Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre, a charitable organisation, occupies New Zealand's largest collection of heritage buildings - a unique landmark created as a university campus, today dedicated to the arts and creativity. The guided tour shares stories of the site, highlighting remarkable people, historic achievements, and ground breaking discoveries, while taking you to spaces not usually open to the public with great spots for photos. Walk Christchurch is one of the city’s top visitor experiences, operated by a charitable organisation and run by a group of local volunteer walking guides who are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and experienced.
Duration: 1.5 hours.
Our small groups, fewer than 10 walkers, ensure a personalised experience.
Walks can be booked online or in person at The Arts Centre’s Clock Tower, 2 Worcester Boulevard.
1 June – 31 August: book online by 6pm on the evening before the walk. No walk-ups.
1 September – 31 May: book online to secure your spot. Walk-ups may be possible, subject to availability.
In very adverse weather, a walk may be cancelled for safety reasons and a refund given.
