On the tour your guide will talk about a brief history of the founding Māori and European settlers, our 2010/2011 earthquake history and how the city is recovering with a new culture, our famous people of the city such as Kate Sheppard and Ernest Rutherford, some of the various architecture including the Cardboard (Transitional) Cathedral and our natural features including the Avon River/Ōtākaro and so much more. The walking tour runs for approximately 2 hours over 3.2km and is suitable for people in wheelchairs or parents with prams.
