How to Get Around the CBD
Did you know there’s over 10,000 car parks in the city centre? With so many options, you’re guaranteed to find a spot on your next trip into town – or leave the car at home and take a more sustainable approach to how you get around Christchurch’s inner-city.
Where to Park Your Car
- The Christchurch City Council provides five multi-level parking buildings within the city.
- The Crossing car park building offers $2 parking for the first 2 hours.
- Wilson Parking offers over 30 car parks within the central city with a handy app to manage your payments.
- And for something a little bit different, Gap Filler provides socially conscious car parks on the corner of Manchester and Lichfield Streets, and Manchester and Gloucester Streets (access off Gloucester). All proceeds are fed back into central-Christchurch projects.
With paperless parking meters, it’s super quick to park in the city. Simply enter your license plate number into the meter, select how long you want to park for, pay and you’re away. Simple! Discover more about parking meters in Christchurch.
