Question: What do Wicked, Into the Spider-Verse, and Percy Jackson have in common?  Answer: They all twist a well-known story.

It might be retelling a tale from a villain's point of view; it might be different versions of a familiar hero; or it might be relocating characters or stories into different environments.

This workshop will get you thinking (and writing) about tried and tested storytelling in a completely different way.

For ages 12 and up.

Workshop participants will receive a $10 voucher to be spent at the Tamariki Book Festival on 13 July.

About the presenter: Michele Clark McConnochie is a Welsh children's author and creative writing teacher living and working in Christchurch. She holds a master's in creative practice, has been reviewed by Publishers Weekly and is the author of the Sabarina Summers and Eli Ants-in-his-Pants books. If you can't find her, she'll be writing with her two rescue cats for company.
