Experience Akaroa's spectacular dark sky on our deluxe, small-group evening tour. We are the closest dedicated stargazing experience to Christchurch, just a 90-minute scenic drive. Astronomy Bites is the only guided experience in New Zealand combining sun observation, gourmet dining, and stargazing. What to expect: Gourmet Grazing: Enjoy a complimentary platter featuring local Akaroa and Canterbury produce for a truly special night. Dual-Scope Views: Safely observe the Sun before sunset, and later view planets, galaxies, and star clusters through our high-quality telescopes, including the advanced ZWO Seestar S50.

We have a no smoking and/or drinking policy during any of our stargazing tours. We reserve the right to refuse admission if a participant is intoxicated or under the influence of illicit substances. In this instance, no refund will be given. All children must be under the supervision of a parent or guardian to ensure minimal disruption to other guests. We reserve the right to cancel or alter any tour or price at any time.
More than 48 hours prior to the tour: You will be offered a 12-month open-dated option to reschedule your tour. Should you choose not to take the open-dated option, a 25% non-refundable administrative fee will apply to your booking, with the remaining 75% refunded.
Within 48 hours of the tour: No open-dated options are available. No refunds will be issued. The full tour price will be charged, as preparations and food procurement will have already been completed.
