Their mulled wine is no exception, featuring their own OGB & Elsewhere gin, their top-secret recipe has been around for seven years. Civil and Naval
With its nautical-inspired theme, Civil and Naval is the funkiest bar in Lyttelton. Their mulled wine is prepared in-house every week using a quality Montepulciano Red and a hint of brandy. They prepare their version a little differently, by only cooking it until the flavours are infused so as not to overcook the batch. To prepare to serve, they simply use a steam wand to rewarm and top it off with an orange slice.

Here, they took the concept of a cellar door, downsized it and found the busiest place in Christchurch to drop it into. They expertly craft their mulled wine using syrah as the base because it already has dark, rich fruit and spice characters which results in a delicious experience for the taste buds.
