What is the Supercars bonnet design competition?

ChristchurchNZ and Supercars are partnering to deliver a Canterbury wide Supercars bonnet design competition, giving students the chance to design the artwork that will be featured on the bonnet of the official Supercars promotional vehicle during the Repco Supercars Championship - ITM Christchurch Super 440 event.

What prize does the winner of this competition win?

The winner's submitted design will be installed onto the bonnet of the official Supercars promotional vehicle which will be on display during the Repco Supercars Championship - ITM Christchurch Super 440 event from 17-19 April 2026.

There will be a design and reveal photo opportunity for the winner at the pre-event street party in Christchurch on 16 April.

The winner will also receive:

  • 6 x Supercars merchandise packs
  • 6 x 3 day GA adult tickets with paddock access (note 12yrs and under free to attend)
  • Team Garage Tour for 6 at the track
  • 2 x grid walks (parent to accompany the winner if they are under the age of 16)

Terms & Conditions

  1. The promoter of the giveaway is ChristchurchNZ, Level 3, 101 Cashel Street, Christchurch, 8011, New Zealand (the Promoter).
  2. To be eligible, Entrants must complete their design and fill out their details within the Supercars design template document sent/given to them via their school, or download the template themselves housed at www.christchurchnz.com/supercarscomp and send it back to major.events@christchurchnz.com
  3. Fields that must be completed are first name, last name, phone number, email address, school, year level, age, and teacher/parent/guardian consent if the Entrant is aged from 5 to 17, alongside their design.
  4. Entries open Thursday, 5 March 2026 and close Monday, 30 March 2026 at 9am.
  5. The competition is open to students who reside in Canterbury. Entrant must be aged from 5 to 18 years old and have parent/guardian/teacher consent to enter, if they're aged 17 and under. The parent/guardian/teacher of the Entrant must read and consent to these Terms and Conditions. Parent/guardian/teacher may be required by ChristchurchNZ to enter into a further agreement as evidence of consent to the minor entering this promotion.
  6. Employees of ChristchurchNZ and V8 Supercar Events Pty Ltd (Supercars) and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation of the competition are not eligible to enter.
  7. Shortlisted winners will be selected from all valid entries by ChristchurchNZ and at ChristchurchNZ’ s discretion.
  8. ChristchurchNZ will pick a shortlist of 3 entries at their discretion on Monday, 30 March 2026 by 5pm.
  9. This competition is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winner.
  10. Supercars and ChristchurchNZ representatives will select the winner from this shortlist based on originality and creativity and ‘no AI’ tech can be used.
  11. The winner will be notified via phone and email by 5pm, Wednesday 1 April.
  12. There is no entry fee to enter this competition.
  13. Only one entry per person.
  14. If a winner cannot be contacted by ChristchurchNZ within 12 hours of the notification, ChristchurchNZ reserves the right to re-select a replacement winner.
  15. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  16. ChristchurchNZ reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition, including the prizes, and these terms and conditions without notice because of circumstances outside of ChristchurchNZ control. Any changes to the competition will be notified via relevant competition posts as soon as possible by the Promoter.
  17. The prize is as stated, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are not transferable.
  18. Any supervision, travel, accommodation or other incidental costs associated with prize participation remain the responsibility of the winner’s parent or legal guardian.
  19. ChristchurchNZ reserves the right to disqualify any entry where false or misleading details have been given or where an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner or otherwise than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.   
  20. ChristchurchNZ’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final.
  21. To the full extent permitted by law, ChristchurchNZ will not be liable to the winners in respect of any claim for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever (including, without limitation, any consequential, indirect special, punitive or incidental damages) or for any physical or mental injury suffered by the winner as a result of in connection with the competition or by reason of the utilisation or application of any prize won in the competition.
  22. All entries become the property of ChristchurchNZ. As a condition of entering into this promotion, Entrants agree to assign all of their rights, title and interest (including copyright) in and to their entry and any other Material submitted as part of or in connection with an entry (“Material”) to the Promoter and consents to the Promoter and Supercars using the entry and Material in any manner the Promoter wishes (including modifying, adapting or publishing the entry and Material in whole or in part or not at all), by way of all media, including, without limitation, posting their entry and Material (whether in original form or a modified or adapted by the Promoter as permitted under this paragraph) on the Promoter or Supercar’s website without payment to the entrant (of royalties, compensation or otherwise). Each Entrant warrants to the Promoter and Supercars that each entry submitted is an original creative work of the entrant, which does not infringe the rights of any third party. Entrants agree to indemnify the Promoter and Supercars against all costs and claims by third parties arising from a breach of this warranty and consents to any use of their entry which may otherwise infringe their moral rights pursuant to the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). Where an Entrant is under 18 years of age, the Entrant’s parent/guardian/teacher consents on their behalf to the assignment of all rights, title and interest (including copyright and moral rights) in the submitted design in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
  23. Winners agree to the use of their name and image and/or details of their entry in any publicity material. ChristchurchNZ will seek the winner's parent/guardian/teacher consent to release the winner's name and sign a talent release form. Personal information will only be used for the purposes of administering the competition and prize fulfilment, in accordance with ChristchurchNZ’s privacy policy.
  24. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, or any other social network. You are providing your information to ChristchurchNZ.
  25. The Promoter may disclose Entrant’s personal information to:
    • entities who assist the Promoter in administering the competition and fulfilling the prize, and other prize suppliers and deliverers;
    • the Promoter’s partners who will use and disclose it for similar purposes and subject to its privacy policies
    • the authorities responsible for the regulation of gaming and lotteries and other government agencies, where applicable; and other parties where required by law
  26. If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
  27. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the Promoter and Supercar’s reasonable requirements.
  28. The winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter or Supercars in its absolute discretion.
