Craighead Diocesan School

Craighead Diocesan School

International students are given a warm and personal welcome to Craighead. We work hard to ensure your experience with us is successful, meaningful and enjoyable. Craighead Diocesan International Students can expect to be well cared for, well educated and included in a wide variety of activities such as local ski trips, shopping trips and outdoor education camps.

We are a school that caters specifically for girls, the unique way they learn, the special way they form relationships, and the needs they have as they grow into adults. Learning opportunities are supported by modern e-learning which allows learning to take place anytime and anywhere through collaboration and innovation. This will give you a distinct advantage for leadership and many careers. We work closely with international students to improve both their written and verbal English skills, through our dedicated ESOL teacher. Our International students study the New Zealand Curriculum. We teach Christian values but welcome students from all ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Living in the pretty and vibrant port town of Timaru is exciting and fun! There are some great facilities and beaches in the town but we are also close to the ski fields and mountains. Many people choose to come to Timaru for the lifestyle that it offers. Our Year 7 to Year 10 students live alongside other New Zealand students within our modern boarding facilities. Year 11 to 13 students can choose homestay accommodation with local families, if they like.
