New Zealand Cup and Show Week

If you haven’t experienced the fun, excitement and glamour of New Zealand Cup and Show Week in Christchurch, then this is your chance! The annual eagerly anticipated event celebrates all things racing, fashion and entertainment, with a party atmosphere well worth taking a few days off work for.

Racing

Racing is a major focus of Cup and Show Week featuring on almost every day of the festival.

From gallops, trotting and greyhound racing, highlights include the Christchurch Casino New Zealand Trotting Cup, the Christchurch Casino NZ Cup and gavelhouse.com 1000 Guineas Day.

Canterbury A&P Show

The Canterbury Agricultural & Pastoral (A&P) Show has been a Canterbury institution since 1863. Running for 3 days (15 - 17 November) at the Canterbury Agricultural Park, around 3000 animals will compete in more than 1700 classes for best in show titles.

Farmyard fun, live entertainment, delicious food vendors, stomach-turning carnival rides and a raft of stall holders all add to the festivities. So pack-up the family and make a day of it!

Fashion and Fun

This is a week when fashion dictates. When months of planning are brought to a haute couture climax in a blaze of colour, style and outlandish hats all vying for the title of best dressed.
