Local Cuisine


Sophisticated, sociable and relaxed, Fiddlesticks Restaurant and Bar provides an inviting atmosphere in a great location – opposite Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu. Providing in-season, sensational local fare, the kitchen offers up a menu of beautifully cooked tasters and full meals.

Pescatore Restaurant

Bloody Mary's

More than just a steakhouse, Bloody Mary’s is all about taking the highest quality produce from the region and making it simply delicious. Choose from gourmet small plates from the brasserie menu or go the whole way with the restaurant menu, featuring a full grill selection and additional entrees and mains.

Tram Restaurant

Experience the luxury of a 36 seater air-conditioned, colonial style dining tram and be treated to the finest service, cuisine and beverages New Zealand has to offer. Incorporate fabulous dining with a sightseeing tour showcasing Christchurch’s inner city vibrancy and heritage – truly a mix of the old and the new.

Dux Central

Dux Central offers a relaxed vibe and a variety of distinct locations to enjoy your beer, wine, food and music. Craft beer is the focus of the Brew Bar downstairs, with a crazy number of beer choices at your disposal. Upstairs is The Upper Dux, suiting diners in the early evening and, later on, becoming a venue for DJs and live bands.

The Grand Cafe - Christchurch Casino

For an elegant experience, The Grand Café is a sophisticated setting combining delicious food and outstanding service. Whether it's a sumptuous weekend breakfast, a lunch special during the day or a three course dinner in the evening, The Grand Café offers something for everyone.

Bealey's Speights Ale House

Enjoy some world-famous southern hospitality right in central Christchurch. Bealey’s Speights Ale House was Christchurch’s second Ale House, the 8th nationwide. Their casual bar is perfect to unwind for a beer, watch your favourite sports team, enjoy one of the three outdoor areas, or dine in the restaurant.

King of Snake

King of Snake is a great place to grab a bite to eat and get a feel for life in the city. The atmosphere is vibrant and relaxed, with a mix of shared seating, tables and bar stools. Chi Kitchen - Christchurch Casino

Coriander's Ethnic Indian Restaurant

Established in 2006, Coriander’s take on Indian food has now been a popular favourite for over a decade. Coriander’s is not simply considered a restaurant but it is a “culinary experience”, complete with authentic surroundings, fine details, and friendly staff.

Madam Woo

Taking inspiration from traditional Malaysian hawker food, Madam Woo serves up big, fresh flavours in a vibrant, fun and modern setting. With an iconic following already in Auckland and Queenstown, Madam Woo will really set the scene for modern, urban nightlife dining in the city.

Baretta is a little piece of Italy in Christchurch. From the moment you walk through the door, you will feel like you have stepped back to another time and place. From the exquisite interior and moody appearance, to the inviting terracotta paved courtyard – Baretta is an interpretation of a classic Italian trattoria with a Kiwi influence.

Francesca's Italian Kitchen

Enjoy the flavours, aromas and hospitality of Italy with a Kiwi twist at Francesca's Italian Kitchen. Everything is homemade and prepared fresh daily. Located in the Botanic Gardens, Curator’s House offers stunning views and superb hospitality and service. A renowned fine dining experience, the Curator’s House restaurant focuses on fresh quality local New Zealand produce with a Spanish influence. Welles Street

Located in the back streets of South Town - Welles Street, simply named after its location, casually celebrates and embraces drinking, eating, and general good times. From humble pub classics, to rotisserie chicken and Mediterranean flavours, their menus are designed with seasonal and local produce at the forefront.

A fresh and funky approach to Mexican food. You won't find heavy dishes laden with refried beans, but light-as-a-feather flavours that are mouth-watering, teamed with an amazing margarita menu! The food is very much of the ‘street style’ theme and runs on the idea that everything is better shared.

Orleans celebrates the culture and diversity of New Orleans by drawing on the American city’s character, individuality, relaxed vibe and incredible sense of fun. Blending the best music, liquor and food, this bar, restaurant and live music venue has all the energy and charm of New Orleans itself.

Situated on the corner of pretty New Regent Street, Casa Publica’s menu has already delighted Christchurch diners looking for some new tastes and textures. From simple and sumptuous starters, to satisfying main courses, Casa Publica has created a range of flavours that will please any palate.

Redfire BBQ

Enjoy all the flavours of Brazil in a more casual atmosphere. Redfire BBQ serves more than 15 different cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, and pork – all cooked on skewers and served in a tableside manner by their "Gauchos".
