29 September to 9 October 2022 - Visit the Museum and count the number of Antarctic whales you see on painted rocks for a chance to win a fantastic prize.
Every summer, whales travel to Antarctica to take advantage of the abundant food found in the southern oceans.
Local artist Faye Broughton has painted some of Antarctica’s whales on rocks, which are hidden throughout the Museum. Count the number of whales you see for a chance to win a fantastic prize.
The Museum cares for the entire skeleton of a blue whale, the largest whale species. A vertebrae (back bone) from this skeleton is on display in the foyer. Guess how heavy it is for another chance to win.
