Celebrate your event in one of the most significant historic landmarks in Aotearoa. Built by Kate and Walter Sheppard in 1887, 83 Clyde Road the house is considered to be the epicentre of western feminism. Kate lived and worked here during the crucial years of the suffrage campaign and collated the 1893 suffrage petition here in the dining room.
This beautiful heritage property has three venue spaces which can be hired for special events.
The North Room
The spacious North Room overlooks the garden and has double doors open onto the verandah and garden. There is a large awning which can be used to shade the lawn area for gatherings or dining.
The South Room
The South Room’s floor to ceiling windows overlooking historic trees, evokes a chapel like atmosphere. Perfect for small gatherings or as an add on area for dining.
The Board Room
The Board Room has a private ‘old world’ feel with natural light spilling in through large windows over looking the gardens.
The Exhibition Atrium
Between the Board Room and North Room is an exhibition space or breakout area for larger groups to gather.
