From September to November BLOOM – our festival of events rolls into town with a brilliant line up of music, culture, sport and fashion events for all.

Addington Raceway

Addington Cup Week

9 - 12 November

Addington will host two days of spectacular racing, entertainment, fashion and as always, great food and wine. The Tuesday will see the IRT NZ Trotting Cup Day – Australasia’s biggest harness racing day, followed on the Friday by the Show Day Races which, at a gold coin entry donation, is a great day out for everyone.

Riccarton Park NZ Cup Meeting

6, 10 - 13 November

Put that new dress or suit to work at Riccarton Race Week – three days of excitement, glamour and outstanding racing across celebrating all that is great about spring in Christchurch at the New Zealand Cup Meeting at Riccarton Park Racecourse.

NZ Agricultural Show Flying Cars

The New Zealand Agricultural Show 2021

10, 11 & 12 November

Ferris wheels, sheep dogs, woodchopping, equestrian, shearing, live entertainment – it’s non stop fun, action, sights, sounds and smells at the New Zealand Agricultural Show where the rural and city come together to celebrate our history, heritage and community.

This year, for the first time children (up to 17) are free, when you purchase an adult ticket!

13 November

The city’s newest major event will make its debut in BLOOM 2021 – The South Island Moon Festival which will be a light, food and music-filled celebration of Chinese and East Asian cultures centered around the notion of bringing family and friends together.
