South Island cycle tour specialists PureTrails New Zealand have launched a new cycle tour through the picturesque scenery of North Canterbury’s Hurunui district. This new product offers visitors an opportunity to see and experience the Alpine Pacific Triangle in a relaxing and unique fashion. Compact and highly scenic, the Alpine Pacific Triangle takes you to Waipara, Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura.
This stunning cycle tour encompasses some of Canterbury’s highlights, including cycling through picturesque vineyards and wine tasting at Waipara, relaxing in the Hanmer Springs Thermal Hot Pools, cycling at Molesworth Station, and staying in a cosy alpine lodge at Mt Lyford, walking the wild Kaikoura Peninsula, trying the local seafood and enjoying a night in an Irish Lodge.
This Grade 1 rated cycle tour features up to 170km of cycling with full vehicle support. The trip utilises comfortable accommodation and hearty meals showcasing local fare.
The 5 day tour starts and finishes in Christchurch and runs on set departures dates from October to April. Alternative dates can be scheduled for groups of 8+ people pending availability.
