In November 2011 Kaiapoi's popular YumWok restaurant has
reopened in a bigger and better restaurant is located at 61
Williams Street.
Lee and Jin opened YumWok in 2006 after several years experience
in a number of restaurants and fast food outlets. They wanted
to create a fresh approach to Chinese food that was more suited to
modern tastes that offered customers fresh, healthy, lighter meals
served in a bright, relaxed environment. "We found that many
of our customers appreciated the variety of food we offered and the
self-service approach that enabled them to create their own meal to
suit their particular tastes," said Lee.
Chef Jin uses the very freshest ingredients wherever possible,
sourcing his vegetables direct from the grower and refuses to use
artificial flavourings such as MSG and also offers a range of
gluten-free options.
The emphasis at YumWok is on choice. Lee prepares a
range of dishes ranging from authentic Chinese specialties, such as
rice noodles or wonton soup and dumplings, through to more western
influenced Asian food and traditional Kiwi fish and chips:
the choice is yours.
