Two Fat Indians

Two Fat Indians Restaurant was opened at Manchester Street in year 2000 and the second restaurant was opened at Merivale in year 2003. They are owned and operated by Adipa and Ronnie Bhogal, who are one of the most hospitable people you will ever meet. They practiced pharmacy in Canterbury for 8 years before embarking on a new Restaurant business.

After surveying the local competition in and around Christchurch, the Two Fat Indians offered a different dimension displayed in most indian restaurants and has gone away from the standard indian theme and music.

The uniqueness of the decor hits you the minute you walk in...lots of chunky rimu furniture and polished floors, softened lighting with contemporary music playing in the background. This setting creates a relaxed atmosphere for the perfect place to enjoy fantastic Indian Cuisine with divine curries and flavorsome Tandoori dishes. One of the most outstanding features is the fully licensed house-bar with a wide range of beers from around the world, wines and cocktails and liqueurs. As if that wasn't enough, they also have one of the biggest ranges of Single Malt Whiskies in Christchurch.
