Hanmer Springs

Only a short drive from Christchurch is Hanmer Springs. The vibrant village is surrounded by a mountain range and is famous for its Thermal Springs. If you don`t want to get all shrivelled up, get out of the pools and get adventurous while exploring your surroundings.

Mid Canterbury

Mackenzie

Something that you will never forget is the breathtaking scenery around Aoraki/Mt Cook. There is no better way to experience the majesty of the highest mountain in New Zealand than by plane or helicopter. Most of the scenic flights include a landing on one of the several glaciers – pretty epic! For those who prefer keeping their feet on the ground there are lots of different walks in the National Park nearby, views guaranteed.
Before you go to sleep, make sure you check out the night sky. On a clear night you can see the Milky Way with your naked eyes! For those who want to learn more about the different stars and planets there are star gazing tours available in either Mt Cook, Twizel or Lake Tekapo.
