When golf is not your thing!

Christchurch and Canterbury is a golfer’s paradise with the range of courses keeping an avid golfer occupied for days. However for the golf widow/widower this can be problematic. How do you fill-in your days when your partner’s out sampling the fairways?

Christchurch day trips

Explore the city with like-minded travellers! Take a hop-on hop-off bus, a relaxing punt down the Avon or capture the views of the city from Gondola? Want to explore more of the region? How about sampling the vintages of Waipara or unearthing the secret of the ‘ring’ on The Lord of the Rings Tour.

For the more energetic head to Banks Peninsula to swim with the Hector’s dolphins, or a daytrip to Kaikoura to see the whales. Need something more relaxing? Soak away your worries relaxing in the thermal waters of Hanmer Springs – the choices are endless!

Shop ‘til you drop

Retail therapy is the perfect way to compensate for the fact that your partner’s spending hours on the golf course. Get your retail fix at The Tannery, The Crossing, The Colombo and iconic Ballantynes Department store  to name a few for the avid shopper to test the credit card to its limits!
