There is no shortage of things to do in Autumn. The season is packed with events - here's our top picks:
Autumn wouldn't be Autumn without pumpkins. Little River, a town located a 45 minute drive from Christchurch, dedicates a whole country fete to the orange vegetable. Old and young will be out and about to enjoy themselves and choose the biggest pumpkin in town. There are other fun activities like gumboot throwing and not to forget the famous Little River Pumpkin soup will be served as well.

From Alpines to bonsai - that is the slogan of this year's exhibition. Located in the beautiful Botanic Gardens, the Garden Show is not just for keen gardeners. Enjoy the different array of flowers and take in the autumn colours while walking through the Gardens.

Autumn is the time of the harvest and the selection of fruit and vegetable is enormous. If you are interested in finding out what new products are available and how to cook them, the Food Show is the place to go. There are a lot of different workshops with award winning chefs who will share their tips and tricks.
