Hanmer Springs & Hurunui

Aoraki / Mount Cook Mackenzie
If you're itching to go on a mountainous quest, head to the Aoraki / Mount Cook Mackenzie region. This place is a mountaineer's Mecca, with a plethora of climbs and guided ascents. For a less physically demanding view over the spectacular Southern Alps, board a scenic flight, or helicopter. Get up close and personal with the captivating, ever-changing ice environment of the Tasman Glacier. Glide across the glacier lake by boat, or take a helicopter to the alps to ski or snowboard their powdery slopes.
