South Canterbury
Food & Wine Trail - Capture the spirit of the

and wine production is emerging… a taste all its own that reflects
a fresh natural environment and artisan food producers creating

The North
Canterbury Food & Wine Trail showcases this
region's local flavours, fantastic food and wine, authentic
experiences and passionate people. Discover the tastes of
fresh seasonal produce and wine, enjoy fine dining, relax

The
Selwyn Food & Wine Trail - Breathe in the fresh
air of the beautiful Selwyn district with its stunning natural
scenery. Take time to visit artisan producers, restaurants, cafes,
wineries and quality accommodation. Selwyn people are the
difference! They look forward to sharing their passion,
knowledge and unique skills with visitors.
The
Mid Canterbury Food & Wine Trail
showcases the region's fresh flavours, authentic experiences and
fantastic food. Across the region and in the small country towns
and villages of Rakaia, Ashburton, Mayfield, Mt Somers, Staveley
and Methven .... there are people with a passion for producing food
and wine from this fertile and productive land.
Waipara Valley
- Waipara Wine Valley is an hour's
drive north of Christchurch and is currently New Zealand's fastest
growing wine region. It is snuggled in the lee of the Teviotdale
hills and enjoys long, dry summers, abundant sunshine and
relatively cool growing conditions.
- The region is noted for its Pinot Noir and Rieslings, with an
additional mention for its Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet
Merlot and small planting of Syrah. The Waipara Valley is involved with Lincoln
University in the "Greening of Waipara" a biodiversity programme to
manage the vineyards and its environs.

Selwyn
- The Canterbury Plains that surround the South Island's largest
city, Christchurch, is where grapes were first planted in the late
1970s. The Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Rieslings are stand out wines
being produced in this region.
